For the dining room table, I took an old discarded drawer I found on the side of the road (my favorite place to shop!!) and painted and distressed it using Annie Sloan Old White Chalk paint. I filled it with pumpkins, gourds and greenery. On my hutch, I kept my white ironstone in place and added just a few natural touches. I used pine cones, white pumpkins in an apothecary jar, and a grapevine pumpkin I found last year in Target's $2.50 bin.
Although living in Florida brings a myriad of reasons to count your blessings, I find that living in the Sunshine State during the fall, ironically enough, is a struggle for me to be thankful, as I miss the beautiful fall weather I remember growing up with in the north. This chalkboard is a sweet reminder to me to be grateful. Even for 90 degree weather in October!!!
I love how sweet this simple white coffee cup looks with a few pine cones resting inside it.
In the living room, the inspiration for my mantle was a sign I ordered from my favorite artist, my sister. She has a shop on Facebook called "White Hen". You HAVE to look her up!
I love using natural elements, but since we don't have fall colors outside just yet, I went with silk branches, purchased from Hobby Lobby.
And yes, I am thankful for this sweet snoozing pup. The "Thankful" pillow was purchased from the Etsy store, Next Door To Heaven.
In our little kitchen, I just added a few fall touches. On the island I topped a galvanized cake plate I purchased from the Magnolia Mom's online store with a small pitcher filled with a bit of fall color.
In my tiny eating area, I simply added some pine cones to a wire egg basket.
I love this old ice box door made into a chalkboard.
A gentle reminder in the yard that although the leaves are still green, YES, it is fall!
And even if we won't be getting any cool breezes for a few months here in Florida, I will choose to be thankful and just crank down my AC and pretend there's a hint of fall in the air outside! Happy Fall, Y'all!!!
